17 DAYS | from $0

A GOTOPERU representative will be waiting to greet you as soon as you arrive in Lima. We’re ready to offer world-class treatment for what is bound to be a vacation of a lifetime. Get introduced to the city and then enjoy accommodations on our private shuttle, en route to your hotel.

You will get to view the Pre-Colombian era, Colonial Lima, and modern-day Lima. Get ready, because this two-pronged tour starts rather early.

  • Leg one of the tour starts out a paronamic view over Huaca Pucllana, which is a famous and historic archeological site.
  • Now it’s on to Lima’s Historic Center. This is the location where the city’s historic religious and political buildings can be found. Not only is this a legitimate World Heritage site, certified by UNESCO, but it’s also one of the most well preserved examples on earth of different cultures having significant influence in architecture. The unique architecture of buildings like the Art Museum, The Palace of Justice and The French Palace truly stand as awe inspiring. And the best part about the Historic Center is that there’s always more to see, including the Plaza of San Martin – a historic monument constructed to celebrate the anniversary of Peru’s independence.
  • The previous locations are mostly shown to you via transport (like a city bus tour, only better). The next locations are actual hands-on visits. So, get off your transport and walk a little, straight to the Plaza Mayor. This is where you’re going to find those awesome historic political and religious buildings, like The Cathedral, City Hall, the Archbishop’s Palace, and the Palace of Government. You will also get to visit the San Francisco Convent Museum and see the catacombs underneath. It’s a total vacation by itself.
  • Now that the walking is over, hop back on your transport; it’s time to head back to your hotel. Though, on the way, take note of the beautiful panoramic views of Modern Lima. Snap photos and take in the entire skyline of the Financial District in San Isidro, as well as the gorgeous landscape of Miraflores. Feel free to explore further and take advantage of stops along the way, such as the Larcomar cliffs on Lima’s coastline. And don’t forget to get your fill of the delicious Peruvian dishes.

Your vacation in Arequipa officially begins almost immediately after arriving to your hotel. Take a few moments to get settled in and before you know it would be time for the first part of journey: Discovering Arequipa.

Arequipa is the largest and most populated city in the Arequipa Region, which means it’s also one of the most heavily visited. Though you won’t have to worry about tons of tourists impeding your progress. Over the years, modern Arequipa has thrived on tourism, and this means that the city is set up for the curious traveler like you. After being recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the local government began putting emphasis on protecting the old and constructing the new. The end result is a very accommodating city. The best part about the city, of course, is that you get to tour it!

There are many great things to see and explore during your tour, and here are just a few highlights:

  • A professional, English-speaking guide
  • A tour of the Plaza de Armas
  • A tour of the Basilica Cathedral and Town Hall
  • A look at the unique architecture of the colonial district
  • Visits to other fantastic sites like the Convent of Santa Catalina
  • And much more

Although this is a guided tour, it’s a rather abbreviated look at the historic city. This particular GOTOPERU package is about letting you, the vacationer, experience much of the city on your own. After you’re finished with the guided portion of the tour, the rest of the day is yours to explore. Check out sites in more detail, like Santa Catalina. Go view some of the awe-inspiring volcanoes, the breathtaking valley scenery, or just enjoy some world-class cuisine.

Whatever you do for the rest of the evening and night, just make sure you rest well. When you’ve had your fill of delicious food and are through soaking up the rich culture, head back to your hotel, browse through those awesome photos, and get ready for the next leg of your journey.

The first of your two-day tour begins with breakfast in your Arequipa hotel. Pack the necessary gear for your journey, including a camera, and get ready for your tour guide to pick you up. You will start the scenic drive to Colca Canyon.

This drive is rather lengthy, but it is a huge part of your overall trip. Colca Canyon is to Peru what the Grand Canyon is to the United States, so expect to see a huge river canyon that was carved deeply into the landscape over many thousands of years. Only instead of barren desert, Colca is actually teeming with rich, green life all over the place. You’ll be driving through towns like Chivay, through the Salinas National Reserve, and through the uniquely beautiful plains of Pampas Aguada.

Keep in mind, too, that you’re not in the valley; you’re actually driving atop the canyon at relatively high altitudes. This gives you the perfect view of the valleys and river below, not to even mention the 360-degree views of the entire landscape. You will view gorgeous marble structures, a wide range of indigenous, unique animals, medicinal plants, exotic fruits, and much more.

Upon arriving at your Colca Canyon hotel, it’s time to relax. Your trip wasn’t arduous by any stretch of the imagination, but your eyes and jaw undoubtedly hurt at this point. So, enjoy a hot meal and take a dip in the relaxing natural hot springs, one of the region’s most famous features.

The night ends with an overnight in your hotel.

The second day of your trip begins bright and early with an energizing breakfast. After you’re through eating, your guide will pick you up and whisk you off to the breathtaking vista Cruz del Condor. The entire Colca Canyon region is peppered with these types of vista, but if you want truly majestic views that appear too bright and vivid to be real, Cruz del Condor is the go-to location. As an added bonus, you will take the most scenic route imaginable to get there, allowing you to view the region in all its natural beauty as you arrive.

You will witness pre-Inca ruins, marvelous volcanoes like Hualca and Ampata, and quaint villages where the residents still live life like they’ve been doing for centuries. Once you arrive atop the vista, you will be almost a full mile above the river’s bottom, giving you a bird’s eye view at the majesty of this ancient kingdom. Take your time, soak up the scenery, and wear those camera batteries out. Once you leave, all you’ll have are your photos and memories; do not take these priceless views for granted.

The trip to Cruz del Condor actually takes you past over half a dozen separate locations, so this is certainly a full day’s trip. After leaving the vista, it’s time to transfer to Puno.

Trip highlights include:
•    Tour of the Uros Islands to experience the simple life of the local people.
•    Visit to Taquile Island to get a rare glimpse into Peruvian indigenous culture.
•    Lunch in the town of Luquina.
A boat will take you back to Puno in the afternoon where you can use the rest of the day to shop, tour or rest.

Your GOTOPERU representative will come to your hotel and offer you a private transfer to embark on your journey to Cusco.
Trip highlights include:
•    Visit to San Pedro de Andahuaylillas, Sistine Chapel of America.
•    A tour of Raqchi, an archaeological site with public baths, a large aqua duct system and stone terraces.
•    A buffet style lunch break in Sicuani Village.
•    A chance to explore La Raya, the border town between Cusco and Puno.
•    Tour the Pukara Archaeological Site featuring a large pyramid and museum.
You will end your day at a hotel in Cusco.

When you awake, your vacation starts anew. Now it’s our turn to show you exactly what Cusco, Peru is all about.

Start your day off with a yummy breakfast of local favorites in your hotel, and take a while to get yourself tour-ready. The evening guided tour will include many great stop-offs, but don’t forget to branch out on your own to see the sights and sounds, explore locations like San Pedro Market, and soak up as much culture as your heart desires.

Once the evening rolls around, your guided tour will begin. A GOTOPERU rep will pick you up at your hotel and thus your guided adventure starts.

Here are a few of the guided tour spots for day two of your journey:

  • A guided tour of Cusco – Peru’s historic capital
  • A close-up look at ancient Incan architecture and the region’s Spanish Colonial influences
  • Visit the world-famous Q’enko – a large, historic amphitheater were ceremonial sacrifices once took place
  • See the church build on top the Temple of the Sun, the Cathedral of Santo Domingo
  • Witness great Incan monuments such as Tambomachay, the site where water worshipers once gathered; and Sacsayhuaman, a large Incan fortress with hand-carved stones (as seen on popular television series like Ancient Aliens)
  • Finally, enjoy visiting Incan tambo, which is the travelers’ rest stop of Puka Pukara

After this guided tour is over, you will be taken back to your hotel, where you’re free to enjoy the rest of your night. We recommend taking in more of the local culture by visiting some nearby shops, or mingling with the locals. However, you may want to rest up well.

Get ready to witness the majestic Sacred Valley!  After breakfast in your hotel, a GOTOPERU representative will greet you and pick you up for a scenic bus ride through the Andean landscape to the Sacred Valley (El Valle Sagrado).
Trip highlights include:
•    Tour through Pisac, a small town rich with Incan architecture and culture.  Be sure to stop by the artisan market to view and purchase unique souvenirs.
•    Visit to Ollantaytambo, a town and Incan archaeological site that once was the estate of Emperor Pachacutec.  During the Spanish Conquest, it served as a fortress for Manco Inca Yupanqui.
A: Train and Overnight to Machu Picchu ( Included in the Price )  After your tour to Ollantaytambo fortress you will have a couple of hours extra to enjoy this small inca town before taking a 1.5hrs train to MachuPicchu Town where a representative will welcome you and transfer you to your confirmed hotel.

B: Overnight at Sacred Valley :  you will be transfer to your comfortable hotel surrounded by spectacular landscapes in the Sacred Valley.

C: Return to Cusco : After Ollantaytambo you will enjoy a tour through Chinchero, an Andean village with Incan ruins and a colonial church that produces extraordinary textiles, woven with ancestral tools. After a visit to the Textile Market you will be transfer to your hotel in Cusco later in the afternoon.

Once GOTOPERU stops by and picks you up from your hotel, it’s right back in the direction of Machu Picchu. Only today, we’re going to be focusing on the beautiful mountain behind the monument – Huayna Picchu. This location will be tough to see on your own, as they only allow a limited number of visitors per day. However, as part of our travel party, you will have full access to the entire mountain.

From a distance, Huayna Picchu appears to reach straight up, impossible to climb, much less to actually build on. Though once you’re directly on the mountain, you will witness something that is truly majestic. The plush green covering of the mountain’s peak is actually quite easy to climb; it’s not even very steep when staying on the trail. The brilliant, bright green creates an optical illusion from afar. Once you begin walking up the mountain, you will see that some areas tower above you like vertical skyscrapers and are really impossible to climb. Yet, you will see manmade fixtures all over the most rugged parts of the mountain.

The higher you climb, the more of these structures you will be able to see. It is really an experience that will take your breath away. The sheer scope of the site is awe inspiring.

Once your mountain journey is complete, you will return to town in the late afternoon, where you will catch a train back to Cusco. Enjoy the shopping and dining, and get ready for the next leg of your journey.

The first day of this trip starts early in the morning, directly after a GOTOPERU rep picks you up from your Cusco hotel. You will be taken to the Ollantaytambo station and subsequently take the train to KM 104, where the real journey begins.

The first thing you’ll notice upon arriving at your destination is an old-fashioned suspension bride. This is the start of the trail. We will begin trekking over the Urubamba River en route to some very old, small and intriguing Inca ruins on the Chachabama historic site. Make sure you get plenty of pictures and plenty of water, because then begins a four-hour hike to the Wiñaywayna enclosure, which is well over a mile above sea level (8,858 feet to be exact). The air up here is crisp and clean, however light, but the journey upward is actually rather gentle.

This location is an important spiritual site of the Incan people. With large stone structures carved into the mountain, Wiñaywayna looks like an outdoor stadium for giants and is one of the most well preserved (naturally so) Incan sites in the region.

Make sure to keep your head on a swivel as you cross this monument and onto the main Inca Trail. The river valleys and peaks of the lush, green expanse will leave you speechless for the entire journey. The goal is to cut through the ridge above Machu Picchu and to descend on this historic location.

After a short hike, you will reach Intipunku (modern day Puerta del Sol), where you will head down the 40-minute trail to the town of Aguas Calientes. Here, you will get a great meal and have access to the hotel. Sleep tight, because day two is right around the corner.

You won’t have to walk nearly as much on day two; this is all about soaking up the historic site of Machu Picchu. You will receive a guided tour of what experts refer to as the world’s most ancient—and perhaps most sophisticated—city. Machu Picchu is an entire city, built by the Inca Pachacuteq, and it features many houses, storage areas, temples, a large central gathering area, and even roadways and hundreds of steps – all carved out of stone by the ancient Incans.

After getting a personal tour of the city from an expert historian tour guide, you will get to enjoy the rest of your day before returning back to your Cusco hotel.

You will welcome a day of rest and relaxation.  Sleep in, go shopping or visit some of the local museums.  If you wish to embark on an adventure, please notify a GOTOPERU agent and we will help you arrange horseback riding, hiking, biking, ATV trips, river rafting and more.

The first day of your trip starts out like most trips. You arrive at your destination via airport. However, immediately after arriving, you will begin to realize that GOTOPERU has lined up a very unique experience for you, starting with our expert tour guides. Our guides are members of the community here, they are real biologists, and they are tourism professionals. You will be assigned a guide at a 10:1 ratio, so your party may be merged with another. Though if you’re not keen on that idea and instead want a private guide, just make arrangements with us beforehand. We will set you up with a private guide for your tour.

Once these arrangements have been taken of and you are greeted by our professionals, it’s time to transfer to Puerto Maldonado Headquarters, which only takes a quick 10 minutes. After this, you will get your first taste of the Amazon via our amazing natural gardens.

When it’s time to head out, you will be asked to leave your nonessentials behind in a safe deposit box. This is due to the boat travel you’re about to embark on; it’s important to keep the vessels as light as possible. From here, it’s a scenic ride to the Tambopata River Port.

During this 20km trip, you will be entering the native community of Infierno, which operates as a port communal business. This gives you a true sense of how life in such a region operates. It’s a very community-driven atmosphere, with no real hierarchy to speak of. After you learn a little about this community and mingle with residents, it’s time for a boxed lunch before catching your last transfer to Posada Amazonas.

This is a relatively short boat trip, taking between 30 minutes to an hour, and you will pass directly through the Primary Forest Private Reserve, which is teeming with unique and active wildlife.

When you arrive at the lodge, you will be greeted by the manager and subsequently get a few minutes to settle in, and then it’s time for an orientation. The staff works very hard to create entertaining presentations, but keep in mind that these are supposed to be educational. You will be going over essential navigation and safety tips. This is the rainforest, and getting separated or lost might not make for a pleasant time.

As soon as your orientation is over, it’s time for the fun to begin. Put on your hiking books and make sure you have a camera handy.

About a 20-minute walk from the Posada lodge takes you to a manmade scaffolding structure that’s built high atop a ridge on the trail. All in all, this scaffolding stands around 30-meters high but gives you a vantage point of nearly triple that. The sturdy platform places you in the perfect position to view the many different canopy flocks, parrot species, raptors, macaws, and much more. You will also get a great view of the Tambopata River, as it cuts through the land below. This gives you an idea of the sheer size and scale of this vast reserve – and it also puts things into perspective, as you’re only looking out at a fraction of the entire rainforest.

When you’re through viewing the amazing scenery, it’s time to enjoy a hearty, tasty dinner.

Before the night ends, you will be treated to a very entertaining lecture on ecotourism inside the lodge. This gives you a new perspective on tourism in the region and the efforts underway to preserve as much of this natural land as possible. This lecture is optional and will be available every night, if you so choose to participate, but you can spend your time doing something else if you would rather skip it.

Enjoy a restful night’s sleep and get ready for the second day of your journey.

Enjoy a filling breakfast when you wake up, and pack up your gear and prepare for a full day of excitement.

Oxbow lakes are beautiful u-shaped sstructures that form when a wide meander in a river is cut off and the river takes a new course. These standalone lakes become unique ecosystems which support a wide variety of wildlife. The Tres Chimbadas lake is a 30-minute ride by boat, or a 45-minute hike by foot. Paddle out to the lake in a catamaran and start searching for the wide range of life that thrives here. You may see a large family of giant river otters, the frightening-looking caiman, horned screamers, hoatzin, and much more.

A clay lick is essentially a sodium-rich river bank, and birds fly for miles to eat this nutrient-rich clay. You will hike about 25-minutes from the lodge to a blind directly adjacent the clay lick. From this vantage point, you will see dozens of different parakeets and parrots descend on the lick to get their clay fix.

Beautiful species like the blue-headed parrot, the dusky-headed parakeet, and the yellow-headed Amazon show up to eat on clear mornings. The bright, vivid colors of these birds in flocks will amaze everyone.

Enjoy a light, energizing lunch after viewing these birds.

This particular part of your tour takes you up a manmade trail after a 20-minute boat ride. It was created by the Centro Nape staff, which is a communal organization in the area, and it features a host of medicinal plants, indigenous plants, and much more. Most of the plants along this trail are actually used for the patients in the clinic, and the tour guide will explain the different plants and their medicinal properties, and why it’s so important to sustain this type of life in the Amazon. After learning about the plants, enjoy a delicious dinner.

If you’re so inclined after the sun goes down on the Amazon, you can go out on a night walk and see many of the forest’s animals that you will never see during the day. Granted, it’s tough to actually see them in the pitch of night, but you will certainly hear them rustling around in the bush. This is where a light comes in handy, as you will encounter many types of arboreal mammals and frogs.

When this walk is over, it’s time to rest up for your departure in the morning.

Although you will heading out after you eat breakfast, the vacation is not over by any stretch. You still have a lot of traveling to do, and you will be going back through the heart of the natural reserve, wherein you will experience all types of wildlife in its natural habitat.

The morning travel starts with a boat ride transfer to the Tambopata River Port. Immediately after, you’ll be heading back to the Puerto Maldonado Headquarters, where you will then ride back to the airport.

When your vacation is all said and done, regardless of the package you have chosen, you will still be seen off like royalty. After you eat a hearty regional breakfast, we will deliver you in style to the airport, where your flight awaits.

We’ll offer assistance with whatever you need: Check-ins, tickets, luggage, etc.

Just remember to come back and vacation with us again. You can never see too much of Perú.
